*Note: Starting in 2011, our newsletters will appear on our new blog, twopotters.com/blog. Spring 2010 In this Newsletter: Upcoming Events - 500 Vases Book! - I Heart Handmade New Website and Shop - Building News - Facebook?! Happy Spring, Everyone! This is such an exciting time of year . . . for us artist types, it means we begin to emerge from the studio walls to see YOU! Our world here in Vermont is turning the most amazing shades of rich green, and we're getting excited about spring and summer shows and markets. We hope to see you at one of them . . . Upcoming Events in Maine and Vermont We'll be returning to Becca's former home turf for the "Mother of A Craft Fair", an artisans fair on Mother's Day, May 9th from 11am to 5pm at the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, Maine! Becca will be showing her new line of veggie and painted pots at the Farmers' Market in South Royalton, Vermont, most Thursdays from 3-6 pm, on the town green. Markets begin May 27th and run through October 7th! We're really excited to be a part of the Vermont Studio Tour, held on Memorial Day Weekend, May 29th and 30th. In it's 18th year, the tour features the studios of over 260 craftspeople statewide! We'll have our Milkhouse Gallery open with new pottery and seconds, and we'll be giving educational tours of the kiln site and the beginnings of the kiln building process. Come check out our spot! 10am to 5pm each day. 500 Vases Book! Congratulations to Nathan who had one of his vases accepted for publication in the upcoming 500 Vases by Lark Books. It'll be in bookstores in Fall 2010! I Heart Handmade We're excited to be a part of an online marketplace of handmade goods, called I Heart Handmade. We're featured in their Summer Preview, running now through May 22nd. They've got a neat blog, and they'll be giving away one of Becca's Queen Anne's Lace plates on Thursday, May 6th! (We're showing Becca's new line of "painted pots", because they've been popular, and also because we happen to think they are a little more "indie" than our other line. :) Our New Website and Shop Becca's brother put together a new website for us as a wedding gift! TwoPotters.com has been re-designed and spiffed up big time to include an online shopping feature . . . many of you have already experienced just how easy it is to find a new something for your kitchen, or send a gift to a friend! Plus, we love that it has PayPal because we can assure you it's safe and secure to shop with us online. We'll continue to update it with new work periodically, so check back now and again, and be sure to let us know if there is something in particular you'd like to see there!! Building News We're getting ready to start on our new kiln! After finishing the kiln shed last December, our most current building project is an extension of the Milkshed Gallery, providing us with a covered open-air seasonal display space! (It'll house the tractor on non-show days. :) During the Studio Tour, we hope to have a kick- wheel for throwing demos, a table or two of seconds, and home-baked goodies! Our work on the new kiln should begin in late May or June. We're still working out some site drainage issues, and pulling together materials to start the foundation. All of our bricks are begging to be put to use!! What an ancient craft like ours is doing on Facebook, we're not quite sure, but over 300 people seem to "like" that we're there!! If you're into social media, it's a good way to get invites to our shows, see photos of new work as it happens, and generally stay in the Becca-and-Nathan's-pottery loop. Plus, it's fun to stay in touch with you, and it helps us spread the word about our work, which helps us to keep doing it! :) TwoPotters on Facebook Gratefully yours, Missed something?
